FTP Instructions
Uploading files via PC Windows OS:
Using FTP via WINDOWS Explorer (not Internet Explorer)
- Open Windows Explorer (icon looks like a folder with a magnifying glass)
- In the Address Bar, enter ftp://ftp.gfnet.com and hit <enter>
- You will be prompted for a username and password. Use gfnetftp for both.
- To upload a file: open a second Windows Explorer window and browse to the desired file or folder. Click and drag the file or folder to the FTP session.
- Close your Windows Explorer windows when done.
Notes: Name the folder before you drag it to the FTP site. If you create a new folder on the FTP site you will only be able to create it as "New Folder". You will not be able to rename or delete a file or folder once it is on the FTP site. Please also do not use any special characters when naming your files or folder – use only letters and numbers.
Files and folders uploaded to the FTP site will automatically be deleted after five calendar days to manage disk space.
Uploading files via Macintosh computers:
Mac OS X users need a 3rd-party FTP client to upload files. A few that are available for free or for relatively low cost can be found on download sites like www.macupdate.com or www.versiontracker.com. A good FTP client that is free is CyberDuck (Mac OS 10.4 and above required).
Zipping Large Files
If you have an especially large file to place on the FTP site, you might want to consider zipping it. This can save upload and download time.

No logon prompt?
CAUSE: You must have saved a username and password for this site on a previous visit.
RESOLUTION: Click the File menu and select "Login As" -- you will now have a logon prompt.
If the FTP site will not accept your username and password, it could be that Internet Explorer is sending corrupted login information, which had been saved during a previous logon, regardless of what you are entering. The only way to fix this is to have your technical support representative edit the Windows Registry for this problem.
With Questions
